TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Acceptance of Terms

By entering Not Your Average Tattoo Shop, scheduling an appointment, receiving a tattoo or piercing service, or using our website at www.notyouraverage-tattooshop.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Age Requirements

The following age policies apply to all clients:

•       You must be 14 years of age or older, with parrent consent to receive a tattoo without parental or legal guardian consent.

•       Clients between the ages of 14 and 17 may receive a tattoo only with a parent or legal guardian physically present and a signed parental consent form completed at the time of service.

•       Valid, government-issued photo identification is required for all clients receiving tattoo or piercing services.

•       We reserve the right to refuse service to any individual who cannot provide valid identification.

3. Health, Safety & Client Responsibility

3.1 Client Health Disclosure

It is your responsibility to disclose any medical conditions, allergies, skin conditions, blood disorders, or medications that may affect your service or healing. This includes but is not limited to:

•       Blood thinners or anticoagulant medications

•       Diabetes or immune disorders

•       Skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, or keloid scarring

•       Pregnancy or breastfeeding

•       History of allergic reactions to ink, latex, or metal

Not Your Average Tattoo Shop is not liable for adverse reactions resulting from undisclosed medical conditions.

3.2 Pre-Appointment Preparation

To ensure the best possible experience and result, clients are advised to:

•       Eat a full meal before your appointment

•       Stay well hydrated

•       Get adequate rest the night before

•       Wear comfortable, loose clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed or pierced

•       Avoid alcohol or blood-thinning substances for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment

3.3 Hygiene Standards

All artists and piercers at Not Your Average Tattoo Shop use sterile, single-use equipment. All workstations are thoroughly sanitized between each client. We maintain strict hygiene standards in compliance with Idaho state health and safety regulations.

4. Pricing & Payment

4.1 Pricing Model

Not Your Average Tattoo Shop prices tattoos by the piece, not by the hour. Pricing is based on size, detail, color, placement, and complexity of the design. A free consultation is available to obtain a quote before committing to any service.

4.2 Deposits

A deposit may be required to secure certain appointments. Deposits are applied toward the final cost of your tattoo. Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel with less than 48 hours notice or fail to appear for your scheduled appointment.

4.3 Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of service. We accept cash and major credit/debit cards. Please contact us directly at (208) 605-2943 to inquire about payment plan options.

4.4 Full-Day Sessions

Full-day sessions run from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and are available for $700. Full-day sessions must be booked in advance by calling (208) 605-2943.

5. Appointments, Walk-Ins & Cancellations

•       Walk-in clients are welcome during all business hours on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-in availability is not guaranteed.

•       Scheduled appointments are recommended for larger or more complex pieces.

•       To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us at least 48 hours in advance.

•       Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may result in forfeiture of any deposit paid.

•       Repeated no-shows may result in refusal of future service.

6. Free Consultations

We offer free, no-pressure consultations to help you plan your tattoo or piercing. Consultations do not obligate you to book an appointment. During a consultation, we will discuss your design ideas, placement, artist matching, and provide a price estimate. Consultation availability is subject to artist schedules.

7. Piercing Services

•       All piercings are performed by trained professionals using sterile, single-use equipment.

•       Jewelry is included in the piercing service price.

•       Clients must disclose any known metal allergies prior to receiving piercing services.

•       Post-piercing aftercare instructions will be provided. It is the client's responsibility to follow all aftercare guidelines.

•       Not Your Average Tattoo Shop is not responsible for complications arising from failure to follow aftercare instructions.

8. Aftercare & Healing

Proper aftercare is essential for a well-healed tattoo or piercing. Our artists will provide comprehensive aftercare instructions at the end of your session. We also carry all-natural aftercare products in-shop for purchase. Not Your Average Tattoo Shop is not responsible for healing outcomes resulting from client failure to follow aftercare instructions, including but not limited to infection, fading, or scarring.

9. Numbing Products

We carry professional-grade topical numbing cream available upon request. Please notify your artist prior to your session if you wish to use numbing cream. Results may vary. Numbing cream is applied at the client's own discretion and risk. Not all areas or skin types respond equally to topical numbing agents.

10. Custom Designs & Artwork

All custom designs created by our artists remain the intellectual property of Not Your Average Tattoo Shop and the individual artist until the tattoo is applied. We do not share, reproduce, or sell client design concepts to third parties. Clients grant Not Your Average Tattoo Shop permission to photograph completed work for use in our portfolio, website, and social media unless otherwise requested in writing prior to the appointment.

11. Right to Refuse Service

Not Your Average Tattoo Shop reserves the right to refuse service to any individual at any time for any lawful reason, including but not limited to:

•       Intoxication or impairment at the time of service

•       Aggressive, threatening, or disrespectful behavior toward staff or other clients

•       Inability to provide valid identification

•       Failure to meet age requirements

•       Requests for designs that violate our studio policies (e.g., hate symbols, obscene content)

•       Medical conditions that pose a risk to the client or artist

12. Children's Area Policy

Not Your Average Tattoo Shop is proud to offer an on-site children's area, making us the only tattoo studio in Boise with this amenity. By bringing children to our studio, you agree to the following:

•       Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times while in the studio.

•       Parents and guardians are fully responsible for the safety and behavior of their children on the premises.

•       Not Your Average Tattoo Shop is not liable for accidents or injuries involving unsupervised children.

•       We reserve the right to ask families to make alternative arrangements if a child's behavior disrupts other clients or staff.

13. Limitation of Liability

By receiving services at Not Your Average Tattoo Shop, you acknowledge and agree that:

•       Tattooing and piercing are permanent or semi-permanent body modifications performed at your own risk.

•       Results may vary based on individual skin type, placement, aftercare, and other personal factors.

•       Not Your Average Tattoo Shop is not liable for dissatisfaction due to personal preference changes after the service is completed.

•       Touch-ups, if offered, are at the discretion of the artist and may be subject to a fee.

•       Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.

14. Website Use

Use of our website at www.notyouraverage-tattooshop.com is subject to the following:

•       All content on our website, including images, text, logos, and artist portfolios, is the property of Not Your Average Tattoo Shop and may not be reproduced without written permission.

•       We make every effort to keep our website information accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of all information presented.

•       Online booking and consultation requests are not confirmed until you receive direct communication from our staff.

15. Privacy

Any personal information collected during the booking process, consultations, or in-shop visits is used solely to facilitate your service and improve your experience. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as required by law. Client photographs are only used for portfolio purposes with consent.

16. Changes to These Terms

Not Your Average Tattoo Shop reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website and are effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Idaho. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ada County, Idaho.
